December 14, 2006
To all my friends and associates,
Change is in the wind this Christmas. I've signed on to help Emergency Communities in Buras, LA. the first four months
of 2007. As I write, I have a benefit in progress to raise donations, funds, and awareness for the hurricane recovery efforts
that are still underway in the Gulf Coast Region.
The event, "A Gulf Coast Christmas", will take place on Dec. 27th starting at 5:00p.m. at the Fifth Gear
in Cedar Rapids, IA. The donation drive will be held on the 26th, 27th, and 28th of December in the Fifth Gear parking lot.
On Dec. 29th I'll drive the donations down to Buras, LA.. I hope to be there by Jan. 1st 2007. If any of you can donate, contribute,
or volunteer, I guarantee you will become part of the solution and not part of the problem. I hope to see all of you there.
Buras LA. is located 1 1/2 hours south of New Orleans. Katrina made first landfall there and much work still needs
to be done. Volunteer organizations like Emergency Communities are making a difference. I invite you all to check out their
site at www.emergencycommunities.com
As for my music, teaching and repair business, I will resume all of that upon my return. I'll try to keep you informed
of the situation down there with updates to my website. With camera, computer, and a high speed connection at the base camp,
I'll be adding news my site. www.garygibsongroup.com
As the Entertainment Chair for the Linn County Blues Society, I will retain my position. I've gotten most of the
years events in order. With a computer connection and a cell phone, I should be able to put out any fires that may arise.
When I get the number, I'll let everyone know. My email address will be changing.

The Gary Gibson Group will be performing at the Fire House on 1st Ave SE on Wed. Dec.20th and Dec. 27th at "A
Gulf Coast Christmas". Come on down and get in the groove with Charlie, Byron, and Mrs. Gibson's favorite son. Mrs. Gibson
(mom) was born and raised in Gulfport MS. And I have a huge fondness for the region. This is one way I can repay some of my
treasured memories of Christmas time at Grandma's. ( I may even loose some of my pudge) I hope you all have a wonderful Holiday
and don't forget to give. Anything is better than nothing. See ya all soon...
Peace, and love to all,
Gary "Bubba" Gibson
